FRESH Has a New Definition

Our Story:

Mothers and daughters trying to make our own bath bombs--like those huge, pretty, fizzy expensive ones from the mall.  A BIG mess. The YouTube instructions were confusing.  We didn't know where to get all the right tools or ingredients.  That's how we started.

After several batches, we learned they really are quite easy and fun to make.  We longed for an affordable kit with the measurements already done, so it could have been a positive experience the first time.  And what would we do with that 15 pounds of leftover citric acid?

Then there are all the other facial care and cosmetics we buy.   A small jar of "vitamin C enriched" youth-enhancing formula that has a shelf life of six months goes for as much as $200.  When I got to thinking about it, I realized that:

A.)  It must have a ton of preservatives in it

B.)  Vitamin C doesn't stick around that long

Researching ingredients, we learned the secret (besides the fact that those hundreds of brands are made by only a few manufacturers):

The secret is THE WATER.

Once you add water to a product, it's shelf-life clock starts ticking.  Water is needed for the bacteria to flourish.  Anything with water MUST contain preservatives if it is to be shipped. The ONLY way to have fresh cosmetics without preservatives, is to make them yourself.

So here are our products.   They're meant to be simple and FUN.  Please enjoy them with the mindfulness and serenity that deserves to go into everything that touches you :)

PS - Home-blending your own natural, free-trade, vegetarian body-care products has the added benefit of keeping those preservatives, plastics, petroleum products and excess packaging out of our oceans.  And we donate 15% of all profits (on ALL of our products) annually to clean water charities.  So keep a mermaid happy...

With love,
